In a moment of anguish and heartbreak, a caring nurse can make all the difference when a patient comes to the emergency room experiencing a painful miscarriage and was waiting for their significant other to make it to the hospital. Dawn made sure to go above and beyond not only physically, but emotionally. She helped to keep the patient calm and reassured the patient that things would be "ok". She understood the patient's world was falling apart and nothing felt "normal". She strived to collaborate with the other members of the healthcare team. To a patient in their weakest moment, a caring nurse can help heal wounds the patient isn't aware they have developed.
