Dawn was one of the best nurses I've ever had! My husband & I have had losses with infertility issues. When our son was born, Dawn was our day shift nurse. As soon as she came onto her shift, she introduced herself and her students. I'd like to first commend her for the way she informed us and her students at the same time. She made the environment comfortable for everyone involved and was extremely patient with her students. As a nursing student, I can appreciate that and hope in her case it doesn't go unnoticed. She is the best example of what a genuinely caring nurse with empathy looks like. In today's world, empathy is a quality that is hard to find and cannot be taught. In regards to her being my nurse, she went above and beyond for me. She reassured me when I was scared, in pain, and anxious. She made sure I was turned and repositioned every hour and that I was as comfortable as possible. It's been a very long time since my last baby was born, and she went over the steps of breathing & pushing through my contractions. That in itself made this an amazing and easier experience than my last. She knew the answers to all of my questions and even when I repeated them, she was extremely patient with me. When decisions & calls needed to be made under pressure, she was on it immediately & was calm. That helped me stay calm. I had full confidence in her. She has made this delivery experience my best experience, and I have two other living children. I think she deserves to be recognized, and I hope she gets all of the blessings she deserves.
