Dawn Oakes, ASN, RN

Dawn Oakes cared for my mother-in-law for two shifts. W has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with Mets to the brain. She needed neurosurgery and stayed in the SICU. W has been through so much, and this was a very big day for her and our family. Dawn was extremely friendly, kind, and understanding. She went above and beyond to not only meet every medical need for W, but psychological needs as well.

Dawn spent extra time trying to make her smile and talk about home. It has been difficult for W to communicate, but she lit up when Dawn was taking care of her. She advocated for her to go outside and get home, where W could best rest and start her healing journey. Dawn is an exceptional nurse, advocate, and cheerleader. We are so thankful to have met her, and she truly brought a sense of comfort during such a scary time.
