Dawn has brought in clothes for homeless patients and those in need. She gifts patients based on their circumstances and donates items to both patients and staff, all at her own expense. She decorates the unit for each holiday, also at her own expense. She participates in unit-building activities and often initiates events.

Dawn serves as our Unit Representative for Shared Governance, where she develops, coordinates, and leads the meetings. Her skill level is exceptional, and she is the person everyone goes to for help. She is our unit’s Night Shift Charge Nurse and a member of the Professional Practice Collaborative.

She is also a Preceptor and Mentor to new staff. Dawn wears many hats; she will function as a Unit Secretary, CNA, and take full nursing assignments, either separately or in conjunction with these roles. She is ACLS certified and scheduled for TNCC. She helps give patients baths and assists them out of bed.

With over 30 years of nursing experience, Dawn consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, colleagues, and unit.
