Reassuring and calming patients/families, working with coworkers to share experience and knowledge are just two reasons why Dawn deserves to be recognized.
All of the nurses have been wonderful but let me explain why Dawn Partin stands out. She takes the time to explain how medications work and interact. She lets me know what kind of things to expect. Her explanations are thorough and detailed, alleviating some of my worry. Dawn exuded confidence that allowed my family and I to have some peace of mind.
During my stay my assigned nurse had difficulty accessing my port for a blood draw. They were about to do a venous stick when Dawn happened to be passing by. We asked her to take a look, since the port had recently been flushed by the endoscopy/bronchoscopy team. I am what the lab calls a hard stick. It usually takes several attempts to draw blood and it is painful. Before proceeding, Dawn explained how ports can be tricky and she showed my assigned nurse how to overcome the initial difficulty and the port worked. She was kind in her explanation and did not offend my assigned nurse. This might seem inconsequential to you but to me it was a giant relief!
Reassuring and calming patients/families, working with coworkers to share experience and knowledge are just two reasons why Dawn deserves to be recognized. Her tireless dedication to the nursing profession and her patients is unmatched.

During a scary time for my family and I Dawn was my moms nurse. Her bedside manner was like she had known us our whole life. The way she spoke to us felt comfortable and reassuring, she made sure my mom was getting the best care which still means so much to me. We had some ups and downs with our stay and Dawn was right there making sure we were alright.
At the end of our stay I asked if I could hug her because that is how much of an impact she made on me and my mom. We just loved having her. She is doing exactly what she is meant to by helping people! She deserves all the praise in the world and I just wanted to show some way of a thank you.
Thank you, Dawn, for your willingness to go above and beyond your call of duty.
