Dawn was my son's first nurse. I remember feeling so anxious that first night, and Dawn instantly put my mind at ease with her sense of humor and compassion. Dawn remained a champion for my son and me even on nights she was not assigned as our nurse. One night, he barely slept because he had an ear infection, and Dawn instantly offered to help so that I could sleep. Not to mention, she always checked that I was awake in the morning so I wouldn't be late for work.
