Dawn Tullis goes above and beyond as a nurse and human being. My husband has been regularly attending Cardiac Rehab for multiple years. I notified Cardiac Rehab to let them know he had been admitted to BRMC with an acute illness. That same afternoon, he suddenly coded, leaving me in total shock. After he was stabilized, he was moved to ICU. When I got to the ICU waiting room, Dawn and another kind nurse from Cardiac Rehab were there to greet me. I was exceedingly surprised to see them. As I don't have any family in the area, their presence was a real godsend to me.
Dawn stayed by my side the entire time that I was with my husband in ICU - until he passed away and my friends could arrive to accompany me home. I don't know what I would have done without Dawn's comforting care of me! She was a very gentle presence, remaining close by, while also giving me space to say my personal goodbyes. I remember asking her how long she could stay, and the huge relief I felt when she replied, "I can stay as long as you want me to".
