Dawn Twing was honored with a DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award last week after being selected by an SSM Health System Council for her years of exceptional devotion to the compassionate care of others as a member of the Family Medicine team in Sun Prairie.
"Dawn is an exceptional LPN. Her care of patients exceeds expectations- not only have patients noticed, but I have also," says the physician, who has worked with Twing for the last 13 years and nominated her for the honor. The physician says she runs a "very busy practice" and that when the two are paired together, her "clinic day runs smoothly."
"Patients are roomed professionally, but also compassionately," she says of Twing. "She is able to anticipate the patient's needs and allow their care to be streamlined. When a difficult case presents, Dawn takes it upon herself to ensure that all loose ends are taken care of. She will reach out to patients to ensure they are doing ok. Patients regularly will comment on her exceptional care."
Twing also continually strives to find ways to improve patient care, according to the physician, and has been very flexible in adapting to rapidly changing needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. "She adapted quickly to video visits, parking lot check-in, and drive through testing care. She is continually learning and growing to help with patient care."
