Dawn Vollers, DNP, MPH, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, CPHQ

I would like to nominate Dr. Dawn Vollers for the Faculty DAISY Award in recognition of the compassion and genuine care she shows her students in NU512: Leadership, Organizational Theory and Behavior. What sets Dr. Vollers apart is the way she prioritizes the human side of learning. She regularly reminds students to care for themselves while balancing graduate school, work, and family responsibilities. As a working registered nurse pursuing my MSN, I find that those moments of encouragement have meant a great deal to me. During one week when I was very sick, Dr. Vollers took the time to send me a personal email to check in and make sure I was feeling better. That thoughtful gesture spoke volumes about the kind of educator and leader she is. Dr. Vollers models leadership through kindness, empathy, and support. She creates an environment where students feel valued and motivated to succeed.
