Dawn is an exceptional nurse. She is caring, calm, flexible, and organized. She is proactive in that she plans ahead and looks at the whole picture to determine what is best for her unit, staff, patients, and their families. She constantly offers her assistance to her fellow co-workers when she can. She is a pleasure to work with and goes out of her way to ensure that her patients and their families receive great care.
Dawn's compassion extends not only to her patients but their families as well. When one of her pre-op patients was the main caregiver to their mobility impaired mother, Dawn took extra care to consistently check up on her while her patient was in surgery. Dawn assisted the patient's mother to the restroom, brought her back to the waiting room, and provided her with contact information for the recovery room. Dawn also contacted a social worker to help this family with their needs post-surgery.
Dawn is very compassionate to her patients, their families, and her staff members.
