My 98-year-old grandmother was recently in Acute Care, she was very confused and often scared during her stay. One day when I came to visit her I was surprised to find Dawna sitting by her and holding her hand, as I knew Dawna worked in Women's Health. They weren't busy in Women's Health that day and Dawna had come to Acute Care to help out. I'm not sure what she was saying to my grandmother, but the fact that she was just sitting there and holding her hand was providing a feeling of safety and caring that both my grandmother and I needed that day. It made a lasting impression on me. All of the nurses and aids during her stay were fantastic.
