Daya has gone above and beyond for so many patients at the CHC including one individual who was experiencing homelessness while caring for a new colostomy. She helped him access services and the supplies he needed and provided ongoing education and support on how to care for his new site. Daya takes a comprehensive approach towards providing care and resources to our patients by addressing so much more than just the physical aspect of why someone came into the health center. Her warm and approachable demeanor helps people find a sense of safety and security in her service which helps them open up and talk about the individual challenges they’re facing that may be a barrier to taking care of themselves. Daya is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to local resources and referrals we can make for people to help address several dimensions of person-centered wellness including housing, transportation, financial, intellectual, occupational, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual and how each of these can impact the other.
