Dayna was taking care of a very sick patient who needed to have open-heart surgery. This patient had custodial rights to a baby who was born at our hospital but was in NICU. Dayna went above and beyond to ensure that her patient was able to spend quality time with the baby before her surgery. The patient was concerned that afterward, she might not be able to pick up or love on the baby like she normally would, or if she would make it out of surgery. Dayna had to borrow equipment from the COU to continuously monitor her patient on telemetry, which took a lot of time out of her busy day to plan! But she did all of this with a smile knowing that it was truly in the best interest of her patient and the infant. Dayna knew that that brief time in the NICU could make all the difference in her patient's potential recovery, helping with her moral, attitude, and healing. Good job, Dayna!

Thank you, Dayna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
