Dean was amazing! I was brought into the ER after being involved in a motor vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver. I had very extensive/traumatic injuries & it was a very scary process for my family & me as the trauma team was trying to figure out everything that was going on with me/my injuries. 

Dean brought me back for multiple scans, CT & x-rays & stayed by my side during those scans, making sure I was okay & comfortable. One of the X-ray technicians was trying to straighten my leg (I ended up having a fractured femur) & Dean stepped in & did not let that happen as he saw how incredibly painful it was for me. He went out of his way to comfortably get me on & off the scan tables, moving the beds & equipment around multiple times so my good leg would be transferred off first, easing the pain for me. 

This situation was very scary for me. I was very emotional and shaken up. Dean kept the mood light and my spirits high, somehow getting my family and me to smile and laugh during such a difficult time. He was awesome! I am so thankful to have had him as my nurse. He went above and beyond making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. He made my time in the ER less traumatic and is absolutely deserving of this award.

Dean was the ER nurse who provided excellent care to my sister, who was a trauma transfer. He helped make sure that she was as comfortable as possible - controlling her pain and nausea, repositioning as needed, and providing plenty of ice packs. Dean even accompanied my sister during X-rays to make sure her pain was manageable. He was able to keep my sister calm and even put a smile on her face during an extremely difficult situation. 

We truly appreciate his compassionate care and for keeping us updated every step of the way. He was happy to answer all of our questions and requests. Dean truly went above and beyond, and we are extremely lucky that he was my sister’s nurse that evening.
