Dean was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient who is also a respiratory therapist. He wrote:
"I wish I had had the opportunity to work with him professionally. He should be cloned! He did all the little things that meant so much to me during my stay in SICU. I looked forward to him coming on duty. He was an outstanding care giver amidst a department full of wonderful care givers."
