Coming down to my liver biopsy, I was scared (I didn't want to show it on the outside though since I am a nurse as well). Upon entering the ultrasound room, Dean made me feel welcomed immediately. Asking if there is anything he could get to make me more comfortable, having conversations about my life and interests while answering any and all questions I had regarding the procedure.
Along with this, Dean advocated for me so well. He was not afraid to ask the team to slow down so he could explain to me what was happening, and he provided me with comfort and assurance that everything was going well and that I was doing great. I knew that I could trust him to speak for me and provide the best care for me during the procedure.
Even when I was feeling not too great after the procedure, Dean took the time to explain to me what I was feeling and even had the team come back in to assure me that nothing was going wrong internally. He problem solved on the spot and determined that I was likely hypoglycemic. From beginning to end, he created an environment that felt safe, welcoming, and comfortable; even if I was uncertain and felt very vulnerable.
Dean went above and beyond in providing extraordinary patient care. He provided me education, comfort, and encouragement while also advocating, problem-solving, and showing me compassion.
Thank you, Dean, for making my experience in Radiology a positive one, and one that I can share with future patients of my own as such. You are the Best!
