As a student, I had the privilege of observing Deanna during my clinical rotation, and I can honestly say the experience changed how I view nursing. Watching her care for patients reminded me exactly why I wanted to become a nurse in the first place.​ Deanna approaches every patient interaction with genuine compassion and presence. Deanna took the time to speak calmly. It wasn’t just what she said—it was the way she made them feel seen, safe, and cared for.​ Throughout my time with her, Deanna modeled the kind of nurse I aspire to be—skilled, empathetic, and deeply human. She treats each person as if they are the most important part of her day, even on the busiest shifts. Her compassion and professionalism are contagious, inspiring not only her patients but everyone around her.​ Because of Deanna, I left that rotation feeling more connected to my purpose and more committed than ever to becoming a nurse who leads with heart. She doesn’t just care for patients—she teaches by example what true nursing excellence looks like.
