Deanna even came in earlier and stayed later to make sure I was doing well, change my room or sit with me until someone arrived.
In all my years of dealing with hospitals for my parents, wife, children, or myself, I have never had a nurse like Deanna. From the moment she first introduced herself as my nurse she showed enormous levels of care, concern, compassion, and consideration. I felt like she was part of my family in the way she shared and joined in when my family member was visiting. She even came in earlier and stayed later to make sure I was doing well, change my room or sit with me until someone arrived. What I remember most is her gentleness she showed in dealing with a very sensitive area of my body. She was so easy to talk to and take my mind of my treatments. I'm eternally grateful that she was my nurse.
Deanne exhibits all of the qualities of a DAISY Award recipient. Her fellow team members recognize her as always being a team player, always eager and willing to step in to help. For example, she is always willing to come in and pick up extra shifts when the team is in need. She is extremely hardworking and passionate about her career and truly loves what she does every day.
