Deanna Mast, RN
Deanna serves as a resource, confidant, and mentor to the staff daily. She always has a smile. I see her take patients to CT, help with complicated care, and check on the staff daily.
Last week, she covered as CTM so the Resource nurse could attend a family funeral. On top of that, she staffed in to take patients because a nurse went to OR and IR with a patient for several hours. She did this all with a smile and continued to help staff on a busy day.
This may not sound like going above and beyond, but Deanna didn’t have to help at all. I have seen her hold the hand of a patient to calm them, while assisting the bedside staff in setting up a piece of equipment. She embodies what a nurse, mentor, and leader should be: empathetic, pragmatic, and level-headed. I would trust her with my family's life.
