I have been fortunate enough to work multiple night shifts with Deanna where not everything is going as smoothly as you would like it to. On these nights, Deanna is often charge nurse on 2 South, sometimes she is also orienting a new nurse and she is still always checking in with the other staff on the floor to see if there is anything she can do to help them.
When Deanna sees someone struggling, she just steps in and helps without waiting to be asked. There have been two nights in the past few months where we have had emergency codes and Deanna has been a calming presence amidst all the chaos.
In moments where things seem dire, Deanna knows all the appropriate responses. She knows who to call if help is needed and, handles the situation with professionalism.
At night when there are fewer resources and there are people needing a little extra help. Deanna is an amazing nurse to work alongside.
Deanna Saldana is indeed a DAISY Nurse.
