A patient shared their experience with a nurse by stating that she is "sweet, wonderful and perfect at her job. She is so kind and bends over backwards." Then the patient went on to share conversations she has had with nurse Deanna while she was caring for her, they talked about flowers and the patient told Deanna that she likes fresh flowers. Deanna then took freshly cut flowers from her personal garden at home and brought them in for the patient and placed them in a vase at her bedside. The patient was so pleased and commented,
"There is nothing like fresh flowers to cheer you up."
The patient and Deanna RN have developed such a great bond that Deanna has even shared with the patient that she is expecting her first child and it is going to be a boy. The patient shared this and said that she placed her hands over Deanna RNs belly and she prayed for her baby. Then Deanna asked her to pick out Irish baby names for her child. Also of note this patient, due to her diagnosis, has short term memory issues, however Deanna had such an impact on her and created such a wonderful bond that she was able to remember all of these specific details and cherish these moments.
