January 2023 Honoree
Deb Kidd
Recently, Deb Kidd, from the anesthesia department was called to the ICU to perform a procedure on a patient. Following she noticed the patient's wife, sitting in the waiting room, appeared distraught. After spending some time checking on her, she learned that the woman had very little sleep worrying about her husband and that she was also a diabetic. Deb offered to buy her a snack from the cafeteria, but she ran into the nursing supervisor, who helped by ordering the women a full meal. Deb gladly ran down to pick up the meal tray and return it to the woman. Additionally, the ICU charge nurse was notified of the situation and was sitting with and consoling the spouse until Deb arrived with the food tray.
Thank you, Deb, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
