Debbie is an extraordinary person who rises to the occasion without being asked. Debbie works hard as a leader here at North Central as she strives to demonstrate her support of DSRIP projects by encouraging staff to refer patients. She keeps us up on all targets by encouraging the team to strive for their next level. Debbie always puts our patients and their family needs first, as she makes sure their referrals are handled in a professional and timely manner. If our patients have other sources for payment, Debbie not only encourages them to use their resources but also gives them a list of resources to try to help them get the care they need. Debbie often times will work a patient in and make sure that they get their needs met. You can always count on Debbie to deliver exemplary care to all our patients she serves with kind words and a smile.
As the unit struggles to stay on top of their high volume calls on any given day, you can count on Debbie to pitch in and help where needed. She always answers her phone calls in a timely manner and she has been known to help with the faxes and authorizations that are needed. Debbie continually goes the extra mile in assisting and supporting her team as she demonstrates a positive attitude. She shares her knowledge of unity by sharing her expertise with others. I can count on her to guide her staff but also any other trainees as needed. Debbie is very thorough in her training and review. She readily answers questions and encourages others to do the same. She has met the 2016 goal of North Central by ensuring her staff are well trained and even crossed trained to help support all other units at North Central. She offers her staff to other units when there are sick calls or vacation needs without hesitation. Often times she volunteers herself as needed as demonstrated by her support to Intelligent Retinal Imaging Screening.
Debbie provides compassionate care. She demonstrates a deep compassion spirit by going above her job description. She demonstrated this by her deep care of one of our patients who was left at North Central and was stranded without transportation home. Debbie did the right thing as she always does and stayed way past her hours to ensure this patient was taken care of. She even provided him a snack as she realized this patient had not eaten since lunch. Debbie exceedingly demonstrates our CUC Core Values in everything she does. I am proud to work alongside her as I truthfully believe that Debbie has earned the honor and distinction of a DAISY Nurse.
