Yesterday, I needed labs done and an IV put in. As always, I was nervous and tense waiting for the pain. Suddenly, Nurse Debbie pulled out a squishy dinosaur and I was relaxed and laughing in a minute. And as Nurse Debbie put in the needle, she asked me about some interesting things that made me think so the needle didn’t seem to hurt as much. She didn’t need to “fish” for the vein so it went in quickly. Before I knew it, the IV was in and she was wrapping it up.
