I was recently admitted to the hospital, and it was my first time being a patient in this unit. My husband and I were very anxious and worried due to my condition, as we didn't know what my diagnosis really was.
Debbie was my nurse, and her maturity and soft presence were an elixir that made me calm and trusting. She is unquestionably an extraordinary nurse. She has done many actions that greatly increased both me and my husband level of comfort.
She is the most caring and compassionate nurse or person I have ever met. I felt that she genuinely cares about each patient she is in charge of. She has been working long time as a nurse and she is such a blessing to all of us.
During my lumbar puncture procedure, even though I had undergone local anesthesia, I was in excruciating pain and was already sobbing. She stayed with me, held my hand, and gave me comfort all throughout the procedure. Her encouraging words helped me stay positive, and my spirit was lifted. She acted as a translator to the doctor and advocated for me whenever I was not able to verbalize for myself.
When the doctor informed me that he would give me pain reliever Xefo, she immediately reminded the doctor that I am allergic to Xefo. With her presence my heart felt secured. My husband was so amazed by her professionalism. She not only gets the job done quickly but also ensures safe practice and comfort for the patient.
My family will always be grateful to her for the love and attention she gave, even to my child, who visited me when I was admitted. I can't thank her enough and no other nurse can compare.
