Debbie has such a kind and caring heart; she has been known to bring in her own belongings to give to those less fortunate. She once gave a patient a pair of shoes and sheets for his bed, because she knew he was doing without. She offers assistance to her peers, such as the nurse who did not have a car to get to work. Debbie was going to lend her a car for as long as she needed.
Debbie has wonderful assessment skills and an upbeat personality, and it's the perfect mix for a great nurse. Anyone talking to her begins to see the positive side of things and often leaves the clinic with a smile and new view.When her peers work with her, they know they have the A-Team on their side. They have seen her sing a chorus of "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" with one of her patients. The joy that moment brought to the patient was priceless.One peer said, "I've worked with her in long term care/skilled care/clinic and there isn't a better nurse I would want on my team".
Debbie's greatest contribution to the nursing profession has been her compassion for everyone around her, from patients to staff. No matter what is going on, Debbie is reliable and encourages her peers to become the best they can be. Her team admires her for her positive influences. She is a role model and a mentor and we are grateful for her.
