My son, M, has been hospitalized many times at the TCH Woodlands and Main Campus. Debbie has taken care of M at both campuses. M has not been an easy patient due to his rare disease - Autoimmune Disease and also Asperger's syndrome. Hospitalizations can be very difficult for M, his parents, and for the staff. It has been particularly difficult in the last few months because M has had 10 hospitalizations this year alone. This past Tuesday, M was readmitted and Debbie was his nurse on admission day. Not only did Debbie provide loving care for M but listened to me. As the mother, I felt I was really heard by someone for the first time, in a long time. This may seem simple but that act of listening to my frustrations really helped. This has really touched me and helped me tremendously. Debbie is an example of a true DAISY Nurse.
