Debbie immediately struck up a conversation, and each time I return for my next treatment, she picks up the conversation right where we left off, making the infusions so much easier.
I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in college and have battled it since. After multiple medications had failed, I was prescribed a biologic, which is administered via infusion every four weeks. I was devastated. Here I was, a wife and mother of two young children, already battling a chronic disease and now I would have to add lengthy monthly infusions into my life. I'm also not a fan of IVs and have been known to be a "tough stick." But from the first time I visited the Infusion Center, Debbie made sure it was a comfortable experience and used a heating pad to make starting the IV so much easier. It's so easy to get overwhelmed and depressed with the very thought of infusions, but Debbie immediately struck up a conversation, and each time I return for my next treatment, she picks up the conversation right where we left off, making the infusions so much easier. And now, during COVID, it's an incredibly scary time to be a patient with an autoimmune disease taking a biologic. As always, Debbie is right there to talk and listen and answer question after question. I've watched her comfort an elderly patient because they were so scared of COVID and I've looked to her for reassurance myself during these unsure times. I am so grateful for her being there and want to say thanks!
