Debbie Powless, LPN, is a wonderful nurse!
While I was here, I received horrible medical news. It was the worst news I had ever had in my life. I was very upset; not to mention the agonizing pain with every breath I took and every move I made. Debbie found me like that and did everything possible to reduce my physical pain while at the same time, helping my husband and me deal with the horrible news we received. Many nights, Debbie stayed and talked to me, making me feel so much better. She helped raise my spirits and gave me the strength I needed to get through this. She did this always with a smile on her face...and while she was taking care of all the other patients in a timely manner. Debbie would even stop by before or after her shift, when she was not my nurse, just to say hello and sometimes sit and talk if she could do that: on her own time!
She is a nurse for all the right reasons. Debbie manages to do all of this while working full time and going to school to become an RN while raising her family on her own. She is a real inspiration to us all. God bless her!
