December 2024 Honoree
Debora Hardy, RN
Debora Hardy truly is an outstanding human being. Debora underpins the core of being a nurse, sister, ward manager, leader, and colleague.
I have known Debora since I was a first-year student, and I have had her support from day one to now as a sister.
Her knowledge, skill, and experience are immeasurable. Her kindness knows no boundaries; she will help her team and patients build a positive working environment, and nothing is beyond her or beneath her.
I have seen Debora helping in all roles across her team. It’s great to see a ward manager cleaning the ward or making beds to support the team.
It is no surprise that there are waiting lists for staff to join her team and ward; it’s almost like a family, and Debora is truly the matriarch of the whole unit.
She is highly respected and will go the extra mile to help solve any problem you may have, whether work-related or personal. She continues to lead the team with faultless standards, fair decisions, and a truly professional attitude.
Although her role as a senior sister means she isn’t directly involved with patient care, her involvement and influence can still be felt. She provides the guidance and foundations to be a remarkable nurse, deliver exceptional patient care, promote the Leeds way, and make you proud you chose nursing as your career.
