I would like to tell you about my nurse, Debbie. I come to the VA for chemotherapy. Whenever I come in, Debbie greets me with a friendly smile, a sweet hello and a hug. She welcomes me like part of the family.
Debbie has a gentle touch when using my port for my bloodwork. She sends my bloodwork up immediately so I can get the results back ASAP to get the chemo started. Once the results are back, she messages the pharmacy to mix the medication. Debbie does everything in a timely manner, while always making me feel important, and keeping me informed of the progress.
Throughout the day, Debbie checks on me to see if I am okay, and to encourage me through this journey. She always asks about any concerns I may have, not just during chemo, but also in my daily life. Before I leave, she has already scheduled my next appointment.
Debbie makes me feel like an important part of the VA family. She is so personable and caring. She makes having chemotherapy a lot more pleasant experience. Thank you, Debbie!
