March 2023 Honoree
Deborah Brown, RN, BSN, CMSRN
Rarely do the workers who care the most find themselves acknowledged for their good deeds. Ms. Debbie Brown, the Night shift coordinator is such a person. She’s been here so long she is an institution. A living guide to excellent floor nursing and how to make the impossible, possible. Recently we have been desperately short of staff on night shift, as most of our campus. Yet Debbie doesn’t supply excuses, just forges ahead with a determined attitude. I think that goes along with our staffing morale because attitude reflects leadership. Most nights, as our Charge Nurse Debbie takes on floor nursing responsibilities as well, juggling six patients is quite demanding; add to that the responsibilities of 18 patients more and that can feel like rolling a boulder uphill. Still, she does this night after night with grace. She truly is quite a gift not only to our floor but our hospital community.
Thank you, Deborah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
