Dr. Olsen would also spend time after class making sure we understand the material that was lectured on; she is not required to do that but she does it because she cares about her students.
Dr. Olsen is a force to be reckoned with! She is not only an incredible professor but a wonderful human being as well. She is always there for us no matter what, gives us unwavering support, and is very knowledgeable within the field of anesthesia. I hope to be half the nurse anesthetist when I begin my professional career as a CRNA. She is an incredible role model for CRNA students. She is extremely passionate and truly cares about each one of her students. Her positive attitude makes long days in the classroom enjoyable.

Dr. Olsen has been a great mentor during the difficult times of CRNA school. I had a breaking point last semester, where a preceptor was not so nice to me and when she heard about it she made sure I was okay. She sat down, talked to me for at least an hour, and reassured me that I was doing fine. As an assistant director and a working CRNA, she has no extra time, however, the hours she spent talking to me helped tremendously. She is always asking how we are doing mentally and physically, which shows that she cares about her students. She would interrupt her lecture if she had to, to make sure her students were well. The cohort of 2024 calls her "the mother" of the class because she spends many hours listening to our concerns, acknowledging them, and adjusting test dates or lecture dates to make sure we all do great. Dr. Olsen would also spend time after class making sure we understand the material that was lectured on; she is not required to do that but she does it because she cares about her students.

She has been our shining light in a very difficult program. She is knowledgeable, and positive, and always brings a wonderful sense of humor to every situation. We are so thankful to have her during this difficult time in our lives.
