I have very little experience with hospitals. I feel quite vulnerable being so helpless, and it is hard for me to have “company” when I go to the bathroom. Deborah was friendly and exuded competence that is comforting for people like me. An example is my first time walking, her demeanor was such that I felt confident with her help. She had a professional way of helping and instructing. Too often, seniors like me are treated like children. My first time walking was to the bathroom. So, there were two issues combined; I was really dreading it. Deborah helped me in such a way that I had confidence I could do it. The other thing is I did not feel rushed, so my experience in the bathroom was not as horrific as it could have been. Although it is weird to have others in the bathroom with you. Let me sum it up. Deborah is a healthcare professional who is also a caregiver. She dealt with me like she knew what she was doing and was great at it. As the patient, I really felt like she cared for how I was doing. My medical issue is not serious, but I so appreciated the care. 10 out of 10!
