I have a Veteran friend who is hard of hearing. His audiologist indicated he needed to be evaluated for a cochlear implant and this had to be implemented and approved by the Atlanta Audiology Department. Along comes Covid-19. In addition, his audiologist quits the VA, and all stops. He has tried to call the audiology Atlanta facility but was never able to get any help. His hearing deteriorates further. He almost gives up. I and a Disabled Veteran sent messages through the secure message system to no avail until Deborah Jacobs came through to give me guidance. She was the only person willing to go above and beyond to help this Veteran in his most vulnerable time. Without Deborah’s help, we would still be floundering.
