Deb Matvey is a true asset and role model in nursing education. As a newer educator, (3 years' experience) it was my hope and dream to be able to lecture someday. I had expressed interest to Deb and told her how awesome it would be if someone would give me the chance. Well, Deb not only recognized the potential I had, but inspired me, guided, and empowered me to lecture over two full days. She supported me with creating an exam (which I had never done), incorporating different multi-media options for lecture and most importantly, she lifted me as a professional. She recognized potential in me that I did not know I had. Because of her amazing ability as a nurse and an educator, I found the confidence to return to school for my DNP. I know that I can seek guidance from her at any time and that she is always there to support me. I truly hope that you will recognize Deb Matvey as a DAISY Honoree. Thank you.
