My son had surgery that was more extensive than expected. This was his first hospitalization and there were several obstacles that came up.
To say we were all nervous and tense is an understatement. Lupe and Debbie were helpful in that they explained why somethings were being done. They were very willing to answer all our questions and greatly calmed our fears. They were extremely efficient in their tasks but always checking to see if there was anything my son or his family needed.
One important thing they both did was give us a timeframe. "X will occur in the next hour, the test result will take 45 minutes." There were numerous such situations which calmed our nerves and kept us from constantly watching the clock.
Both ladies need to know how much we appreciate all they do every day. It does make a difference to the patient and to the family. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts.
