Early this year, I had a long weekend of 8 seizures, and following that weekend, I lost my job. I had been working with Debbie Redmon, RN, to get my new medication approved and hopefully end the seizures. After losing my job, I also lost my insurance. Debbie worked with me to help get my medication covered by COBRA and provided feedback on what was going on, who to contact, and the next steps I should take with my insurance. Not only is epilepsy stressful, but so is losing your job and insurance. It is very reassuring to know that we have nurses like Debbie to help us feel reassured that our problems and concerns will be taken care of. She has been so reassuring and helpful throughout my time with the University of Maryland. Her responsiveness and caring personality have really kept me on track, and I know that we will get all of this taken care of. Thank you, Debbie, for your excellent care! I am truly grateful!
