We had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the NICU to adopt our son. We didn't know what we didn't know and were extremely intimidated. Debbie went beyond anything and everything we imagined a nurse would do for preemie babies and their scared parents.
Debbie took time to simply sit with us and talk about normal life and give us some sense of normalcy while we were obviously in a very abnormal situation. Whenever we had worries, concerns, or questions, Debbie took the time to answer and explain. She is more than a nurse to us. She is a teacher, a motivator, and an inspiration.
We can't thank Debbie enough for the many small things she did during her time with our baby and us. We will always be forever grateful to her, for, without Debbie, our experience in the NICU would not have been as sweet as it was. As excited as we were to be parents, we are equally scared. Debbie absolutely calmed our fears and allowed our excitement to grow right along with our little, precious boy. Thank you so much, Debbie! We feel lucky and blessed to have you and know that every little child you care for is touched by an angel who calls herself Debbie.
