Deborah Adelman was my instructor for Promoting Optimal Models and Systems for Healthcare Delivery. From the first lecture, her desire to want each of us to become involved in legislation and encouraging each of us to have a voice was so appreciative. Coming from a nurse manager background, as I become a PMHNP I wasn't really thinking about legislation and becoming involved, but it's such an important way to make a difference.

Especially in the field of mental health, where resources are so limited, and the number of healthcare professionals is so low. She taught of ways she had made a difference and the importance of speaking up and writing letters to our representatives. She made this nurse believe that it is possible to make a difference.
