Deborah Schulz is an exemplary nurse. She is very attentive to detail and solicitous to her patients. I can always go to her as a resource; the breadth of her knowledge is impressive. Nothing is beneath her and she often performs duties outside of her job description to comfort her patients.
We had a patient who was made NPO for failing a swallowing evaluation. Most of her pills had been on hold. Debbie noticed this patient had a history of seizures and was in need of a medicine to prevent seizures. She notified the doctor and got an order for this medicine.
This is one of many examples of Debbie’s expertise and commitment to her patients. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and not once have I seen her be lax or impatient with her patients. I believe she is a deserving recipient of a DAISY Award.
