I have had the pleasure of being a student of Dr. Shindell’s for the past two years which included taking her 3P's as well as being one of her students in clinical. Her passion for education coupled with her love for nursing and caring for patients makes her a knowledgeable and empathetic instructor. I have never felt more comfortable speaking to a professor and feeling such gratitude towards one than I have with her.

After complex assignments or even sometimes the simplest ones she always provides some sort of feedback whether that's constructive or approval which has helped my learning tremendously. Becoming a nurse practitioner is extremely hard, to say the least. It has its ups and downs whether that's mental or emotional. I struggle a lot with imposter syndrome and worry I'm not understanding the material or am cut out for this profession sometimes. At the end of each semester, Dr. Shindell has written very eloquent and uplifting messages for improvement and encouragement. I have saved a couple of those because on the days I feel like I'm struggling I read those and know I'm right where I should be.
