Deb Stanaback is a great team player. She goes far and beyond to care for patients even if she isn't assigned to them. She consistently answers call bells and skips her lunch to make sure patients are cared for.
Special is the word that comes to mind when I think of Deb. She has a special presence with her patients and their families. Mr. X was a patient on Deb's floor for months. He had very few visitors, and as the months went by he considered the staff to be his family. On Valentine's Day Deb brings him in a card, balloon and a box of chocolates. As Mr. X was out doing his laps on the unit, Deb popped into his room and arranged the gifts so that they were there when he came back. He was speechless.
Another day,another patient, she offered a massage to help her deal with her anxiety. Deb has a sense of humor that all her patients love about her. She laughs with them and cries with them as well. She is always so dedicated to them, and we are very fortunate to have her work at HUMC.
