April 2012 Honoree
deborah waller, RN
Deborah was nominated for the extraordinary measures she goes through to care for her patients.
One of our patients moved to California. When he got there, he no longer had a place to live or a way to get his dialysis. She took the initiative and called different places and was able to arrange for him to get into two different shelters. The second shelter accepted young men with medical problems, thus giving him an address and a place to start in a new state. Even though he was across the country, she worked diligently to get him the resources he would need. This nurse went above and beyond what is needed to care for her patients. She truly exemplifies compassion, kindness, and sincerity.
