Deborah volunteered to go with a patient who required continued hospitalization to his mother's viewing. She had died unexpectedly the week before. Deborah escorted the child in the ambulance for 5 hours. Without her in attendance, he would not have been able to spend time with his family. She had not been scheduled to work that day.
Her exceptional dedication to the patient has always been at the core of her nursing vocation. For more than 20 years at the bedside and in the classroom, she has practiced the art of science of nursing as an exemplary member of the healthcare team.
