Deb Cadiente, RN is truly the most caring and compassionate person we have ever worked with. She consistently demonstrates that patient care is the priority no matter how difficult the challenge or patient need may be.

She values every patient that she comes in contact with; always making them feel as though they are the center of attention. If a patient needs something that the clinic is unable to provide, Deb has been known to make sure the patients' needs are met. There are several examples, but one patient comes to mind:

The patient was a young man (early 20's) and homeless; he had a chronic illness and due to a rough family life, was homeless. Deb could tell that patient was cold and he appeared malnourished. She asked the patient to come back the following day and she would have a warm coat, blanket, and several other miscellaneous items for him. That afternoon, Deb made several phone calls to try to find the patient shelter, get him enrolled in a job-training program so that he would have a chance at getting back on his feet. In addition to Deb's own generosity and hard work, she was able to rally the Colon & Rectal Clinic staff and providers. Together, we were able to provide the patient with many of his needs and wants. He went home with shelter, I believe she was able to get him on the list for the job-training program at Goodwill Industries, and we were able to provide him with clothing, gift cards and several other miscellaneous items.

Deb wants to help every single person she comes in contact with. Whether it be a patient, a physician, or support/mentor a staff member in some way. Anytime any of us needs assistance, no matter what the challenge or request, Deb is always there with a smile on her face and is willing to help or provide insight.

Swedish is truly lucky to have Deb. She is an abundance of knowledge, a great leader, a wealth of information and resources. She is always striving to learn the latest and greatest technologies knowing her patients will benefit. She is always attending different workshops, lectures, and spending time researching. She is truly someone we can't imagine not having the opportunity to work with every day.

This doesn't even begin to tell the story of Deb's achievements, her caring or compassion for others. She truly does deserve to be recognized for the outstanding person that she is and the outstanding work that she does EVERYDAY! She is inspiring to all that are lucky enough to meet/work with her. She knows how to bring out the very best in every life that she has touched; even when prognosis or a situation is difficult, Deb is able to provide encouragement and continue to inspire.
