Deb is a nurse with foresight, willingness, and the heart to fill a need. After taking care of north county patients with ostomies for many years, Deb felt that a community support group would be beneficial in providing them with the highest quality of care across the continuum.

Deb developed the North Bay Ostomy Support Group from scratch, beginning with three ostomates. Then it grew, and grew! She now has more than a dozen ostomates that come on a routine basis with their family members.

The members tell her that they "love this group and don't want to miss a meeting." Deb is a perfect example of a DAISY nurse - one who takes initiative to provide something extraordinary to the patients and families she serves.
