Debra worked numerous hours with a couple of patients with wounds not stopping until she got all the answers she needed for these patients to make them comfortable and the situations stable for the patients.

Thank you for being such a patient advocate! A newly diagnosed pancreatic cancer patient was sent home from the hospital with no oral break-through pain medication. A Fentanyl patch of 25 mcg was placed on the patient 30 minutes before leaving the hospital the night before. When Debra got to the home to do the admission assessment, the patient was in so much pain she was crying.
Debra spent over five hours with the patient calling numerous doctors, the hospital, and pharmacy to finally get this patient's pain under control.

A patient in rural Douglas County was having issues with her PICC line leaking and not working and was on critical cardiac medication. Again, Debra spent several hours at the home on the weekend trying to resolve the issue, making sure the patient was getting her life sustaining medication.
