n every situation Deb takes time to understand their needs, discover their past and make sure they are well taken care of in the hospital and are safely transitioned out.
There isn't a single patient for whom Deb doesn't show compassion, respect, and care. In recent months, many of our patients have had extreme behavioral issues, difficult pasts, or have been abandoned by family and friends. In every situation Deb takes time to understand their needs, discover their past and make sure they are well taken care of in the hospital and are safely transitioned out.
Even when she should be overwhelmed, she continues to present herself with grace to patients, family, and staff. With a patient who was here for over a year Debbie never gave up in finding a solution for him from the beginning, when family was involved, persistent when they stopped responding to our outreach, working with the legal tea,m and reaching out to all possible placement options once insurance was cleared and even followed up to ensure they transitioned well into their new environment.
Similarly, a patient returned from a long-term care option that she also worked diligently to place due to his history. Deb continued to treat him with respect and without bias as she worked to find a new solution. With multiple guardian issues under her belt, she continued to carry her caseload well. There is never a “no” its always a “just not yet”.
