Debra Humphrey, RN

A 15 year old patient with SLE had missed her monthly biologic infusions for unforeseen reasons. An error was made and her family was told to come in to receive the medication. After traveling all the way in from Staten Island she was almost turned back because there was no nurse available to do the infusion. Nurse Debra Humphrey was called and came in specifically to help out this patient and her family. The family was also very happy because Ms. Humphrey had done previous infusions, and she was always kind and helpful to the patient and her family. I feel like Ms. Humphrey went above and beyond her duties and showed the real spirit of nursing and The Brooklyn Hospital Center by coming in specifically to help this young, very sick patient and her family.
